Basketball: NSU women upend Emporia State

The Northeastern State women's team opened MIAA play with a 63-51 victory over No. 21 Emporia State at Jack Dobbins Field House in Tahlequah.
The RiverHawks (4-3, 1-0 MIAA) were playing their first game as members of their new conference, while the Lady Hornets fell to 3-2 on the year and 0-1 in league play.
NSU shot a season-best 51 percent from the field (24-of-47). The team was led senior guard Taylor Lewis' 21 points.
