An Ada woman is dead after her car crashed into a semi tractor late Friday night.

Kayla Jane Williams, 22, was driving a 1996 GEO Prism southbound on State Oklahoma-3W eight miles northwest of Ada at 11:50 p.m. when the car crossed the center line for approximately nine feet before striking the 2013 Mack Model GU-7 semi tractor with trailer, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Williams was pinned for approximately one hour before being extricated by the Ada Fire Department. She was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said.

A passenger, Jerry Pete Wheeler, 22, also from Ada, was transported to Valley View Hospital in stable condition for head and trunk injuries.

The truck’s driver, Michael Newport, 57, of McAlester, was not injured, troopers said. Seatbelts were equipped and in use, troopers said.
