Hurricane women win third straight

Kelsee Grovey scored 16 points and Taleya Mayberry added 11 points and seven assists as Tulsa won its third consecutive game, 58-43, over Colorado State in women's basketball on Saturday at the Reynolds Center.
"I am really pleased with how our kids played, fought and competed," TU head coach Matilda Mossman said.
"We have to get to a place where we expect to win all the time, and if we continue to compete and play hard, good things are going to happen for us."
Tiffani Couisnard pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds as the Golden Hurricane TU outrebounded the Rams 39-28.
TU (3-5) shot 48 percent in the first half, including 6-of-11 from 3-point range, in building a 37-30 lead at intermission. The Golden Hurricane did not shoot as well in the second half (28 percent), but it held the Rams to just 3-of-23 from the field (13 percent).
Colorado State (2-6) was led by Sam Martin with 13 points, while Alicia Nichols added 10,
Tulsa returns to action at 1 p.m. Saturday against BYU in Provo, Utah.
