He is survived by the love of his life for 65 years, Wanda Louise; daughter, Dolores Jean of Colorado Springs; son, Donald Eugene and wife Rhonda of Tulsa; two grandsons: Benjamin Eugene of Washington, D.C. and Nathan Kyle and wife Callie of San Marcos, California. In addition to his family, Gene leaves behind a group of caring friends who have selflessly provided comfort, encouragement and support to him and his family during his long struggle. He and his wife, Wanda, have been dearly beloved members of the Carpenters Class at First United Methodist for over twenty years. Throughout his life, Gene was known as a fun-loving fellow with indomitable optimism, a ready laugh, and a droll, spontaneous humor.
