WNBA Draft to be televised in prime time

The WNBA Draft will be televised in prime time for the first time, the league announced Monday.

ESPN2 will televise the first round of the draft, beginning at 7 p.m. CDT, April 15. ESPNU will televise the second and third rounds, starting at 8 p.m. on the same night.

The Tulsa Shock will have the third pick in the first round. The Mercury Phoenix won the top pick in the draft lottery and will likely select Baylor's 6-foot-8 Brittney Griner, rated the top senior playing on the collegiate level. The Chicago Sky will have the second pick.

Other top seniors are Delaware guard/forward Elena Delle Donne, Notre Dame guard Skylar Diggins, Georgetown guard Sugar Rodgers, and Maryland forward Tianna Hawkins.
