Letter to the Editor: No violation
BY Fred M. Greene, Tulsa
Tuesday, December 11, 2012
The claim that putting the Ten Commandments
monument on the grounds
of the Capitol building is unconstitutional
is incorrect. The phrase in the
U.S. Constitution which applies to the
situation is, “Congress shall make no
law respecting an establishment of religion,
or prohibiting the free exercise
thereof.”
Since neither Congress nor the state
of Oklahoma has made such a law in
this matter the Constitution has therefore
not been violated.
