This qualifies as ambitious nonconference scheduling.
Oral Roberts University's women's basketball team will hit the road Wednesday to face defending national champion Baylor.
The third-ranked Bears will suit up two of the three people on the court who were named to the early season Naismith Trophy watch list - reigning Naismith Trophy recipient Brittney Griner and Odyssey Sims. The other player on the list is ORU's Kevi Luper.
Griner and Luper are seniors. They'll cross paths for the first time since their freshman season, when Griner posted the first triple-double (34 points, 13 rebounds, 11 blocks) in school history while lifting Baylor to a 101-76 victory. Luper produced 32 points, eight rebounds and three steals in that game.
Sims had been sidelined for four games with a hamstring injury, but returned to action in a victory over fifth-ranked Notre Dame.
ORU has lost 39 consecutive games against ranked opponents. Baylor was 40-0 en route to a national title last season.
