(August 20, 1933 - December 8, 2012) Born to Ralph W. and Potter Lockwood Veatch in Tulsa, OK, Annie Laurie graduated from Tulsa Central High School in 1951. She received a BA (1955) in Mathematics and Business from the University of Tulsa, where she was active in Phi Mu Fraternity and Arthur Hestwood’s choir. She was granted the 1953 PanHellenic Scholarship Award for the highest grades of any fraternity woman. She worked as a programmer-analyst for McDonnell-Douglas, Martin Marietta, and Cities Service Oil Company, as a Mathematics and History Teacher for Tulsa Public Schools, and an Information Systems Project Leader for Blue Cross Blue Shield. Annie Laurie was an excellent pianist and enjoyed singing with Sweet Adelines, Decatur Choral, and Springfield Methodist New Life Choir. She is a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). In 1996, she was ordained as a minister in the Unity Church. She held pastorates in South Bend, IN, and Decatur, IL, until she retired. Then, on April 17, 2004, she mar- ried Richard 0. Peters. They lived in Springfield, IL, near his family with six daughters, spouses, and 18 grandchildren. This October, illness brought her back to Tulsa, where she passed away at age 79. Besides her beloved husband, Richard, and his family, survivors include children: C. Jeffrey Stebbins (wife Kamella) of Panama Beach, FL, Ralph F. Stebbins (wife Becky) of Hendersonville, TN, Catherine A. Thompson of Tulsa, William H. Stebbins (wife Micki) of Clermont, FL, 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, brother Ralph W. Veatch, Jr. (wife Quendrid) of Tulsa, their 3 children, and 4 grandchildren. Visitation and funeral service are at Moore’s Funeral Home Southlawn Chapel, 9350 East 51st Street, Tulsa. Visitation is 6:00-8:00 pm, Thursday, December 13. Funeral service begins 10:00 am, Friday, December 14, followed by graveside service at Memorial Park Cemetery, 51st and Memorial, Tulsa.
