Durant lands distribution center for tile company

DURANT— Officials in Durant said a new distribution center will create 60 jobs over the next three years.
City officials said a distribution and manufacturing center for The Tile Shop is expected to open in January. The Durant Daily Democrat reports that the distribution center will be located in an existing 150,000-square-foot facility on West Arkansas Street.
A new 35,000-square-foot manufacturing facility will also be built.
Officials said the distribution center will include tile and stone products that are sold in The Tile Shop's stores. The manufacturing center will produce adhesives, grout and sealants for the products.
Durant Economic Development Council Executive Director Tommy Kramer said the new center will create 20 jobs in the first year and 60 jobs over the next three years.
