Letter to the Editor: Medicaid questions

I have been following the conversation about whether to participate in the Medicaid expansion. At this point I have a few questions that have not been addressed.
1. Are doctors going to accept new Medicaid patients? So few accept Medicaid now that those on Medicaid have trouble finding a primary-care doctor or a specialist if needed.
2. How much money is going to be moved from Medicare to Medicaid and what happens to those on a Medicare Advantage plan when it ceases to exist?
3. What are doctors going to do when the amounts they are reimbursed by both Medicare and Medicaid are reduced? What will the hospitals do?
We need to hear from the doctors and hospitals before any decisions are made about participating in the Medicare expansion.
