Letter to the Editor: More on Medicaid

Too many in our state Legislature are "fat cats," Gov. Mary Fallin included, who have no idea what it's like to be without health care. I don't wish bad luck on anyone but often wonder what these people, who are so against the Medicaid expansion funding, would do if placed in that predicament without the means to provide a safety net for a longer life expectancy. Yet, some of the working poor have none but only the unattended physical pain and suffering along with the high statistics of an earlier death than those Oklahomans who are fortunate to afford a better standard of life.
This federal funding would provide health care to approximately 190,000 more of our hard-working adults in Oklahoma, including those with disabilities, the chronically ill, and the elderly, who are presently ineligible for Medicaid and will now fall through the cracks.
With Fallin's refusal to accept the money with her bogus excuses, it will now be transferred to other states that will accept it willingly. She and her entourage are now looking toward the future, while counting on the unsuspecting, low-information voters of Oklahoma, to help make her bid for a higher office of our great nation - game over.
So much for "compassionate conservatives" in this Bible Belt state.
