A busy recruiting week ended with Oklahoma picking up the first defensive tackle commitment of its 2013 class.

Kerrick Huggins flipped his pledge from Texas A&M to Oklahoma on Thursday. It was first reported by 247sports.com.

Huggins (6-3, 285) is from Dallas Skyline High School. He had been on the A&M recruit board since last February.

How important is this pick up for the Sooners? With three experienced defensive tackles graduating, Oklahoma remains desperate to bolster talent and depth at the position.

Justin Manning, the defensive tackle target, committed to A&M earlier this week.

Manning is the younger brother of former OU defensive tackle DeMarcus Granger and was thought to be leaning toward Oklahoma.

Oklahoma now has 15 commitments. Defensive end Ogbonnia Okoronkwo committed to the Sooners earlier this week, flipping from Oklahoma State. OU also lost recruit Dalton Rodriguez on Thursday. The Union High School senior changed his mind and pledged to Tulsa.

All verbal commitments are non-binding until the Feb. 6 signing day.
