A man who already was charged in three felony cases and who is in the Tulsa Jail on public intoxication and weapons complaints has been charged in connection with an Oct. 7 shooting.
Richard Eugene Parker, 29, was charged Monday with shooting with an intent to kill, possession of a firearm after a felony conviction and misdemeanor assault and battery, Tulsa County District Court records show.
Prosecutors allege that Parker punched Pesa Wilbert, 30, in the face and shot him with a pistol.
Wilbert, whose name previously was reported as Peso Wilber, was shot in his lower extremities in the 7100 block of East 10th Street, police said previously.
The shooting followed an altercation at the 727 Club, 727 N. Sheridan Road, after two people went there looking for the mother of three young children who had been left in their care for several days, they said.
"Angry club patrons" followed the woman home, where Wilbert was shot, the Tulsa World reported previously.
Parker still faces charges that include assault with a dangerous weapon, reckless conduct with a firearm, second-degree burglary and a misdemeanor count of driving under the influence of alcohol.
He's accused of threatening a man and hitting him in the face with a .38-caliber handgun on Oct. 20.
Court filings allege that he also shot into the air six times.
The burglary charge stems from the theft of a 47-inch flat-screen television, a gaming system and a laptop computer from an apartment in the 7800 block of East 49th Street in November 2011. Burglary and larceny charges were filed in that case on April 19.
Parker was convicted of burglary and related charges in Kay and Tulsa counties in 2005 and 2003, respectively. He served 17 months of a four-year sentence in the Kay County case and was released in January 2008.
He was to remain on probation until 2019.
