Human trafficking charges were filed against a Tulsa man who is accused of attempting to use a 15-year-old girl for prostitution.

Tarran Arnell Brinson, 23, was charged with one count of human trafficking and one count of unlawful possession of a controlled drug, according to Tulsa County District Court filings.

Prosecutors allege Brinson held a 15-year-old girl "as a prostitute for his own and others commercial benefit by requiring her perform sexual acts upon multiple individuals over a period of time," court documents said.

Brinson was arrested by Tulsa police after the girl met with an undercover officer during a prostitution sting at the Super 8 motel, 6616 E. Archer St., on Dec. 6, an arrest report said.

The officer set up the meeting with the girl through backpage.com, a website where the public is able to post free classified advertisements, the report said.

While one officer was inside the room, the girl and a second officer conducting surveillance observed a black GMC Yukon Denali drive by the room multiple times, the report said.

The girl then was sent a text message warning her that police were outside the room while the Denali was in the parking lot. It was later confirmed by motel staff that Brinson had rented the room, the report indicated.

During an search of Brinson, officers found a room key in his pocket and marijuana in his sock, police said.

Brinson remains in the Tulsa Jail.
