Donations needed for Christmas Giveaway

The Christian Ministers Alliance is looking for donations for its annual Christmas Giveaway.
Rev. W.R. Casey Jr., president of the Christian Ministers Alliance, said the organization needs turkeys, hams, stuffing, corn, green beans, milk, cereal and potatoes, as well as bicycles, dolls and riding toys. He said monetary donations are also needed for the event, which benefits low-income families.
Casey said this is the 30th year for the giveaway. He said recipients will pick up their items at 6 p.m. Thursday at the old Booker T. Washington High School, 1631 E. Woodrow Place.
Casey said some donations have been received but said "we've still got a long way to go."
