Mullin names chief of staff

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Incoming 2nd District Congressman Markwayne Mullin announced several staff hirings on Tuesday, including long-time Republican strategist Karl Ahlgren as chief of staff.

A former aide to U.S. Sen. Don Nickles and then-U.S. Rep. Tom Coburn, Ahlgren served as a campaign advisor to Mullin.

In taking the job with Mullin, Ahlgren breaks up one of the state's most successful campaign consulting firms, AH Strategies. Ahlgren and partner Fount Holland have represented many of the leading Republicans during the GOP takeover of the state government.
