Deco District pop-up shops celebrate with activities Wednesday

Wednesday is the last day activities will be offered in the Deco District during the Pop-up Shopping hours.
Mayor Dewey Bartlett will read " 'Twas the Night Before Christmas" at 6 p.m. at the Park Centre Building Lobby, 525 S. Main. He then will hold a meet-and-greet session with attendees.
From 6 to 8 p.m., Whole Foods will host a cooking demonstration in the Philcade Building lobby, 511 S. Boston Ave.
Also Wednesday, restaurants in the Deco District will be open late, Santa will make an appearance, and shoppers can enjoy live music. The pop-up shops will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., selling such items as jewelry, books, cupcakes and dog treats.
The shops are located inside four buildings in the area of Fifth to Seventh streets and Boston Avenue to Main Street. The shops will be open until Dec. 28.
