TU women fall on road to UA-Little Rock

Janette Merriex scored 22 points, including seven 3-pointers, as Arkansas-Little Rock defeated the University of Tulsa 78-51 in women's college basketball on Tuesday in Little Rock, Ark.
Taleya Mayberry had a team-leading 19 points for TU (3-7). The Hurricane's Tiffani Couisnard added 10 points and seven rebounds, while Loren McDaniel finished with a team-high 10 rebounds and scored seven points.
The Hurricane shot 32 percent from the field, hitting just 1-of-9 3-point attempts and 18-of-32 free throws. The Trojans shot 47 percent from the field and made half of their 3-point attempts.
Taylor Gault added 20 points for UALR (9-1). Merriex also had a team-best nine rebounds.
Tulsa will return to action at 1 p.m. Saturday against Grambling State in Grambling, La.
