Putnam City band director arrested on child porn charges

OKLAHOMA CITY — A middle school band director in the Putnam City school district has been arrested on child pornography charges.
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation says 38-year-old Eric Mowery was arrested Wednesday at his home in Oklahoma City for possession and distribution of child pornography and for violating the Oklahoma Computer Crimes Act.
Mowery is being held in the Oklahoma County jail on $72,000 bond. Jail records did not list an attorney for him.
The OSBI said the arrest is the result of an investigation by an undercover Guthrie police officer into the sharing of child porn on the Internet. The agency says there is no indication the pornographic images are of local children.
