I'm a red-blooded American, and like many red-blooded Americans, I like to shoot guns. And with a high-capacity magazine - like mass murderers have been using - I am able to fire quickly, hit several targets, or just watch the dirt fly. It's fun to shoot a lot of rounds quickly. But, the truth is, it's not essential to my enjoying firearms.

How nice it would have been if the elementary school shooter had only been able to kill 10 babies, or five, or fewer than 26 people. How nice if they would have had the seconds while the killer reloaded to run, to hide, to lock a door, or - please, God - subdue the killer.

Is my right to fun more important than a few babies' lives? Hey, red-blooded Americans: Is your right to unfettered fun more important than a few babies' lives?
