William Ray “Bill” Jackson passed from this earthly life to God’s eternal home on Sunday, December 16, 2012, Bill was born to Ray Henderson and Opal Beatrice (McCormick) Jackson on September 29, 1930 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He married his high school sweetheart, Bonnie Ruth Treat, on December 10, 1948. Bill was very proud of their two sons and he adored their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bill’s career took him around the world as Senior Vice President of International Affairs for Parker Drilling Company. He was an avid University of Tulsa and enjoyed attending their sporting events. He loved spending time at his ranch near Gore and fishing at his cabin on Lake Hudson. Bill’s faith was revealed through his life. He was a compassionate man and served in humble ways without drawing attention to himself. He loved children and volunteered with Bonnie in their church’s nursery. He coached tournament winning softball teams and held various leadership positions at his church. This incredible man will be greatly missed. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Dr. Joseph E. Jackson. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Bonnie; son Chuck Jackson and wife Gina; son Ronald W. “Doc” Jackson; four grandchildren: Christopher Jackson and wife Rhande, Wesley Jackson, Jason Lile and wife Sloane, Amy McDill; six great- grandchildren: Joshua and Matthew McDill, Gabrielle, Caroline and Fiona Lile and Felix Jackson; sisters: Julie Earp, Barbara Johnson and husband Phil, Sharon Younger and husband Don; many other family members including a wealth of nieces and nephews; and countless friends he considered family. The family will receive visitors at Moore’s Southlawn Chapel, from 6 – 8 p.m., Thursday evening, December 20th . A memorial service will be held Friday morning at 10:00 a.m., at Southpark Community Church located at 10811 East 4lst Street in Tulsa. Dr. Chuck Jackson, Rev. Gina Jackson and Rev. Bob Cole will officiate. In following Bill’s example, the family suggests that memorials be made by giving to someone needy during the Christmas season.
