OKLAHOMA CITY — Oklahoma City police say a man leading officers on a car chase on Interstate 35 shot and killed himself.

Police told reporters that the chase began about 3 a.m. Friday when officers arrived at a home in northwest Oklahoma City to investigate a reported shooting. Police say the man led officers on the chase southbound along I-35 before shooting himself near the I-35/I-40 interchange. Police say the man had confronted his wife and another man at the home and shot and critically wounded the other man before police arrived.

No names have been released.

The southbound I-35 ramp onto Interstate 40 and the eastbound I-40 ramp onto southbound I-35 are both closed because of the shooting and officials say they will likely remain shut down throughout the morning.
