Letter to the Editor: Politicians mystified

Well, we've experienced another case of mass murder at a school and if you have paid attention the politicians are mystified as to prevention and cause. Here's my thought: How about educating everyone on proper usage and handling of firearms? The NRA likes to point out that its membership has not been involved in any of the mass shootings. Maybe the NRA knows something?
Let's put the onus of educating would-be gun owners on the NRA. Let's start at first-grade level and continue through high school. Make active membership and participation in an organization dedicated to gun safety a requirement for gun ownership.
Let's take the politicians out of it; they are not capable of keeping us safe and passing new laws that would keep people from breaking them.
