The editorial "It's about time" (Dec. 13) is accurate except that it is past time for the Senate to vote on U.S. Magistrate Judge Robert Bacharach, the well-qualified consensus nominee for the 10th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals. Bacharach would fill a vacancy left when Judge Robert Henry became president of Oklahoma City University. That seat has been vacant for 2 1/2 years.

When the Senate does vote, it will overwhelmingly confirm the excellent jurist. This is what senators did Dec. 11 in confirming - 95-0 - Judge John Dowdell for a judgeship on the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Oklahoma.

It is also past time for the Senate to act on the 15 other well-qualified nominees who have been languishing months on the floor. The Senate must quickly grant the 15 nominees yes or no votes, so the courts can deliver justice.
