Ron Spencer, president of Spencer Construction, built the beautiful stucco and stone home at 2616 E. 46th Place.

“It started as a spec home,” Spencer said. “However, we sold the house we were living in out south and needed to move so we finished this house out the way we wanted.”

The couple’s personal touch included several amenities such as glazed walls on the main level and rustic beams in the family room.

“The colors we picked out are pretty neutral, but I think we’ve gotten away from the real harsh colors,” he added. One of the first things you notice about the home’s interior is its light, airy feel that includes a sense of warmth.

Upon entering the foyer, guests can be ushered into the lovely formal dining room to the right, which is framed by a large archway. A chandelier hangs from the vaulted ceiling, and large windows provide ample natural light. Hardwood flooring extends throughout most of the main level.

Continue beyond the dining room, and the home opens to a multiple use space that includes a beautiful gourmet kitchen, breakfast nook and family room. Chocolate glaze settles into the carved doors of the ivory kitchen cabinetry.

Granite topped counters include a curved eating bar separating the kitchen from the other rooms. The family room is especially inviting with a vaulted and beamed ceiling, cast-stone fireplace and wall of windows.

The master suite is tucked at the back of the house just beyond the family room. The small hallway joining the two spaces provides access to the covered patio, which has a gas outlet for a barbecue grill.

The master suite is luxurious without being over the top. “I think the master is a very good size,” Spencer said. “It’s not overwhelming. In fact, the decorators have been getting on to me the past few years about getting the masters too big. Then you have to end up putting too much into them.”

His and her vanities in the master bath and a two-person whirlpool tub and separate shower are popular features enjoyed by many home buyers. A couple of pleasant finds are a chest of drawers built into an area between the master bath and closet as well as a second entrance into the closet from the hallway near the three-car garage and utility room.

The Spencers use the garage entrance to come and go 90 percent of the time so it is especially handy to access the master.

“That’s a nice feature because you can slip in from garage if you already have guests,” said Gordon Shelton, the McGraw Realtor representing the property.

One of Shelton’s favorite features in this home is the guest suite on the main level.

“I’m starting to hear people want places for elderly parents coming to live with them or their kids who can’t get a job after college, the boomerang child who needs to come back for awhile,” Shelton said. “This is a private area at the front of the house where they can hang out and make use of the nearby kitchen.”

The guest bedroom could alternately be used as a study.

Upstairs are three bedrooms and a game room. Two bedrooms share a Pullman bath, and there is a second full bath as well. The game room includes a corner wet bar, and the second level is embellished with crown molding.

Listed for $775,000, the home will be open 2 to 4 pm. Jan. 5 and 6. For more information or to make an appointment to see the property, contact Shelton at 918-697-2742 or email to gshelton@mcgrawok.com.
