Associate Editor Julie DelCour's column ("Charitable deduction lifeblood of nonprofits," Dec. 9) regarding the necessity of privately sponsored charity is of course nonsense.
For at least three generations, state and federal legislators and bureaucrats have demonstrated that they were more skilled at acquiring such money. In addition, they must be better at allocating funding for charitable work - we keep re-electing them.
