Tulsa County sheriff’s deputies arrested an Owasso man who is alleged to have sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl at his apartment in November.

Aaron Michael Copeland, 30, was charged Dec. 17 with second-degree rape and lewd molestation, district court filings show.

Owasso police said the assault occurred while the girl stayed at Copeland’s apartment with a relative of his on Nov. 17 and 18.

When she returned home, the girl told her mother, who took her to the police department to file a report, detectives said.

Investigators interviewed Copeland on Nov. 29, and he “gave a full confession,” Detective Jason Woodruff said.

Copeland was booked into the Tulsa Jail at 4 p.m. Wednesday and was released on a $75,000 bond hours later.
