Even with a month to go, Tulsa’s 2012 home construction has blown past the total for all of 2011 thanks to a strong November.
Approximately 224 houses broke ground in November, 26.6 percent ahead of October and 30.2 percent ahead of November of 2011, according to figures from New Orders Weekly.
The November construction total was the highest for the month since 2007, which had 319 starts.
Construction for the year now stands at 2,177. Not only is that 30.9 percent ahead of the first eleven months of 2011, it’s also 21.8 percent ahead of all twelve months of 2011, the slowest year for construction in at least a decade, and 1.8 percent ahead of all of 2010.
