The snow may have missed us, but, Baby, it's cold outside, nonetheless.

In lieu of a typical hot chocolate (and before those New Year's resolutions kick in Jan. 1), here's a recipe for hot cocoa with a delicious twist.

HOT IRISH CHOCOLATE

Serves 4

2 cups milk
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup hot fudge
1/4 cup Irish whiskey (or more, to your taste)
1/2 cup whipped cream
Chocolate shavings or curls, for garnish

1. In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, bring the milk and cream to a boil over medium heat. Reduce the heat to low; add hot fudge, and stir until melted.

2. Stir in whiskey, and pour into Irish coffee glasses or coffee mugs. Top with whipped cream and chocolate curls, if you like.
