Letter to the Editor: They'll get guns

My heart goes out to the loved ones and friends of those firefighters who lost their lives and the others who were wounded by yet another crazed and evil person who found a way, even though he was a convicted felon, of obtaining a gun to commit his cowardly crime.
Oh, how wise is our president, along with Rep. Nancy Pelosi and Sen. Diane Feinstein, to think that passing more legislation restricting certain types of weapons, number of bullets held in a mag, background checks, etc, can stop these brutal mass murders.
This case proves once again, sadly, that if a person is crazed and evil enough, nothing is going to stop him or her from getting a gun. It does not matter whether it is an assault weapon or a plain old shotgun; if they want or need a gun, they'll get it.
So let's watch Congress pass all the laws it wants regarding types of weapons, number of rounds, background checks and so on. They are not going to work.
