Streets reopened near 61st and Mingo; fireworks reportedly found

Police reopened streets near 61st Street and Mingo Road after investigating suspicious devices reported in the area, which reportedly turned out to be fireworks.

Police were diverting traffic to neighborhood streets until the streets were reopened Sunday night.

A dispatcher said police received a call from someone claiming they saw what they believed to be a grenade near the street.

The police bomb squad was called to investigate several possible devices found along Mingo Road toward 71st Street.

No injuries were reported.
