Police suspect alcohol was involved in a head-on collision Saturday night in the 6300 block of South Peoria Avenue that left one person dead and another in critical condition, according to police reports.
Tulsa Police Sgt. Mark Mears said police were called to the wreck at about 11:30 p.m. and found a passenger dead at the scene.
The driver was transported to St. Francis Hospital in critical condition, Mears said.
Witnesses reported a third occupant fled the scene, Mears said.
Police said the vehicle, a small, white car, went left of center and drove into oncoming traffic.
The driver of the vehicle the car hit was transported to St. John Medical Center, but was "not seriously injured," according to police reports.
