Basketball: Hillcat women lose to Pioneers

The No. 14 Rogers State women's team lost to No. 11 MidAmerica Nazarene, 98-74, inside the Claremore Expo. The Pioneers opened with a 16-6 run and never trailed. For the sixth time this season, Leah Smith led the Hillcats (10-4) in scoring with 21 points and seven rebounds.
Sierra Cornwell provided a bright spot for the Hillcats as she nabbed four steals and broke the RSU career steals record. The reigning Sooner Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year has 167 steals during her two seasons at RSU. Cornwell, a senior from Preston, holds every individual steals record in the RSU record books.
