Walter Haddock Richardson died on Friday, December 14, 2012, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. A private interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. In 1978, he moved to Charlotte, NC, and worked for the PTL Television Network, where he helped build one of the largest Christian television networks in the world. In 1988, he moved to Tulsa, OK, to work for Oral Roberts University. At the time of his death, he had just retired as President of Golden Eagle Broadcasting America. Survivors include his son and daughter, Jud Richardson and Libba Richardson; the mother of his children, Margie T. Richardson; his aunt, Ruth Mathis; and a number of cousins. Memorials may be made to the ORU Whole Person Scholarship in honor of Walter Richardson at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, OK, or to St. Luke United Methodist Church in Columbus, GA.
