(Elva) Louise Houston, 79, went to join her Savior in heaven on Thursday, December 27, 2012. She was born May 30th, 1933 in Siloam Springs, AR, to Mary Ruth and Clifford Browning. She moved to Tulsa as a young woman in 1955 and worked for American Airlines in their Personnel and Ticketing department. In 1957, she met the love of her life, Wallace “Wally” Houston, on a blind date. They married in 1960. She and Wallace lived in Sand Springs for ten years. They soon started a family and Louise was active with the Sand Springs Mothers Club. In 1970, she and Wally built a home in Bixby where they raised their children. Louise was a devoted mother and homemaker. She enjoyed cooking for her family and was well-known for her coconut cream pies. She was also a skilled seamstress and loved to crochet. She made many wonderful keepsakes for friends and family. She also enjoyed activities with the Tulsa V8 club and delighted in taking trips and driving with Wally in their restored vintage cars. She valued her Christian faith and was a member of the Forest Park Christian Church. She will be greeted in heaven by her parents, a brother, Daryl Browning and infant son, Timothy Houston. She is survived by her loving husband, Wallace Houston and son Roy Houston of Bixby, daughter Lisa Houston and son-in-law Robert Wilson of Silver City, NM, and grandsons Elias and Keenan Wilson also of Silver City, NM, along with many wonderful friends from across the decades.
