Ronald "Ron" L. Tuttle

Dec. 6, 1931 – Dec. 25, 2012 Ronald “Ron” L. Tuttle, went to be with his Lord on December 25, 2012, after a long and brave battle with Parkinson’s disease. Ron was the second youngest of 6 children (twin brother Don), born in Bokchito, OK to the late Lewis A. and Pruddie (McDougal) Tuttle. He was also preceded in death by brothers Leon, Robert, Ron’s twin Donald, and sister Helen (Tuttle) Best. Ron graduated from Northeast High School in Oklahoma City, and served in the Naval Reserve from 1951–1959. He married Shirley (Ogden) Tuttle, in Oklahoma City on January 13, 1956. She survives him. Ron went to work for National Biscuit Co. in 1955 in Oklahoma City, which later became Nabisco. He was soon transferred to Tulsa, where he spent the rest of his career. He was loved by all who met and worked with him. He was an important part of the grocery business in the Eastern Okla. area, retiring in 1988. Ron was active in the community, as a County DHS volunteer with long-time friend Marie Bristow/Claremore, and also a volunteer with many other groups including ‘Habitat for Humanity’, and after retirement was an active volunteer at both St. John’s/St. Francis Hospitals with his wife Shirley. Ron lived in many communities surrounding the Tulsa area, the last being Broken Arrow – before moving to Michigan in 2010. Besides his wife of 56 years, Ron is survived by son Reverend Brian (Johnda) Tuttle, granddaughters Brandy Tuttle and Kymberly (Joe) Strange, and 4 great-grandchildren, all whom reside in Michigan, and sister Elizabeth “Tibbie” (Kenneth) Cole, of Cedar Creek, TX. Final arrangements are being handled by Dodds-Dumanois Funeral Home, in Flint, MI. Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service is planned for the Spring of 2013, at the Memorial Cemetery, in Tulsa, OK. Date and times for the service will be announced.
