Funeral Services for Phillip F. Jernigan have been scheduled for 10:00 AM, Monday, December 31, 2012 at Hayhurst Funeral Home Chapel in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Burial will be at the National Cemetery in Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma under the direction of Hayhurst Funeral Home. Phillip Floyd Jernigan was born May 14, 1939 in Tulsa, Oklahoma the son of Floyd Amon and Laura Iva (McLain) Jernigan. He died Thursday, December 27, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was 73 years of age. Phillip was a graduate of Central High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and attended one year at the Air Force Academy where he was a member of the Special Maps Group. He married the former Miss Veva Walters on August 15, 1964 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He owned and operated Jernigan’s Home and Farm Supply. He was a lifetime resident of Broken Arrow. He enjoyed fishing, boating, spending time with his granddaughters and he was an Akdar Shriner. He attended Wagoner Assembly of God Church. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607. He is survived by, wife, Veva Jernigan, Broken Arrow, OK, son, Drew and wife Angela Jernigan, Owasso, OK, daughter, Becky Latting, Lawton, OK, grandchildren, Darby, Chloe, Ava, step sister, Delores Martindale, Catoosa, OK.
