BROKEN ARROW -- Police plan to seek charges against three teenagers they say shot out more than 60 parked vehicles' windows with BB guns and slingshots since Sunday.
The teens, who were stopped by Broken Arrow police early Monday in a vehicle near the site of one such report, admitted to the vandalism and had equipment necessary to carry it out, Major Mark Irwin said.
Police did not arrest the group but said they are gathering reports and plan to press charges. Two of the teens had recently turned 18, and one is a minor, Irwin said.
By late Monday afternoon, police had collected more than 60 reports of vandalism, up from about 30 earlier in the day. Officers were working throughout the day to collect reports, Irwin said.
"They are not necessarily concentrated," he said. "They're just kind of in a couple neighborhoods."
Many windows appeared to have been broken by rocks and marbles, Irwin said.
Broken Arrow residents can report vandalism by contacting the Broken Arrow Police Department at 918-259-8400.
