Rain arrives in Tulsa area; Freezing drizzle possible overnight

Tulsa received more rain so far today than it received the entire rest of December.
The National Weather Service reported 0.5 of an inch of rain since midnight in Tulsa, with a 50 percent chance of rain forecast the rest of today.
Before today, Tulsa recorded 0.16 of an inch of rain, which is more than 2 inches below normal rainfall for this time of December.
Tonight, Tulsa has a 20 percent chance of rain and snow before midnight, then drizzle and freezing drizzle possibilities, the weather service forecasts.
Tulsa recorded trace amounts of snow Friday, and trace amounts of freezing rain Dec. 20, according to the weather service.
Tulsa's temperatures are forecast to reach the upper 30s this afternoon, with overnight lows in the upper 20s.
Highs this week in Tulsa are expected to reach the upper 30s to low 40s this week, before highs in the upper 40s to mid-50s this weekend.
Overnight lows in the 20s are forecast through Saturday night, when Tulsa's lows are expected to rise to the low 30s, according to the weather service.
Tulsa's highest temperature so far this month was 77 degrees Dec. 1. The lowest was 14 degrees Dec. 26, according to the weather service.
