Liberty Bowl: Tulsa vs. Iowa State

Tulsa, the champion of Conference USA, faces Iowa State in a rematch of the 2012 regular season opener at Memphis' Liberty Bowl. The 2:30 p.m. kickoff will be broadcast by ESPN. Tulsa won 10 games this season but lost 38-23 to the Cyclones in Ames, Iowa, on Sept. 1. College basketball: OSU vs. Gonzaga

Oklahoma State men's basketball closes out 2012 by hosting a showdown of top 25-ranked teams.

The 22nd-ranked Cowboys take on No. 13 Gonzaga at 5 p.m. at Gallagher-Iba Arena. The game will be televised by ESPN2.

OSU is 10-1. Thanks to a mass ticket purchase by OSU booster Boone Pickens, the game is officially a sellout.

The Party!

The fourth annual The Party! New Year's Ball Drop is again in the Blue Dome District, on Second Street between Elgin and Greenwood avenues. From 9 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., the free outdoor street party will feature a lighted ball drop and fireworks show, as well as live entertainment.

A VIP party, which will include food, drinks, entertainment and dancing, will be located in the Blue Dome area and will be available for $75 a person. Tickets are available at tulsaworld.com/THEparty

NYE at the Brady

A full bar, ball drop and champagne toast at midnight are part of the New Year's Eve Party at the Brady Theater, 105 W. Brady St.

The party starts at 8 p.m., and live music will be provided by DJ Sean Kibble, The Bradio, The Fabulous Mid Life Crisis Band, Charlie Redd and Jumpshots featuring Jenny Labow.

Crystal Ball

The Crystal Ball will be at the IDL Ballroom, Enso Bar and Electric Circus, at 230 E. First St.

From 9 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., local DJs will provide the entertainment at this New Year's Eve masquerade party. A photo booth, midnight toast, balloon drop and masquerade masks are also part of the fun.

Tickets are $35 per person, $60 per couple. VIP packages are $100 per person and include hors d'oeuvres, special seating and early or expedited entry; 21 and older.

Casino parties

You can also ring in the new year at area casinos, which will feature giveaways, countdowns, food, balloons and music at their parties.

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa, 777 W. Cherokee St. in Catoosa, will start its party at noon for those who don't want to be out late.

Other casinos hosting parties will be River Spirit Tulsa, 8330 Riverside Parkway, and Osage Casino-Tulsa, 951 W. 36th St. North.

A jazzy new year

The Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame, 111 E. First St., is hosting a New Year's Eve celebration featuring Tavis Minner and Cynthia Simmons. They'll be accompanied by Scott McQuade on piano, Bill Crosby on bass, Tony Yohe on drums and Tommy Poole on saxophone.

For those 21 and older, doors open at 8 p.m., and the show starts at 9 p.m.

Tickets are $20 in advance, $30 at the door; VIP reserved-table seating, $45. For tickets, call Bettie Downing at 918-281-8609.

Race into the New Year

At this event, you'll run straight into the new year. A 1-mile fun run starts at 11 p.m., and the 5k will start at 11:45 p.m. Noisemakers, fireworks, music and a laser light show will be part of the event.

Food and drinks will be available after the run.

Registration is $25 ($35 with a shirt) and free for children younger than 12.

The race will begin at River West Festival Park, 2100 S. Jackson Ave.
