Freezing overnights, snow chances forecast for Tulsa area

Freezing overnight temperatures are forecast to continue, but now there are also snow and rain chances in the next week's forecast.

The National Weather Service forecasts a 20 percent chance of rain and snow overnight Friday into Saturday morning. Chances of showers and thunderstorms are also forecast for Tuesday night and Wednesday.

Tulsa's only precipitation of 2013 so far was trace amounts of snow on Tuesday, according to the weather service.

High temperatures in Tulsa are expected to stay in the 40s through Monday, when highs are forecast to rise to the 50s early next week.

Overnight lows are expected to stay freezing through next week with lows in the upper teens tonight, the 20s through Monday night and then 30s Monday night and Tuesday night.

Tulsa's highs have been in the upper 30s both days in January so far, while the lows both days have been in the upper teens, according to the weather service.
