James Thompson, 79, of Tulsa met his Heavenly Father on, Monday, December 31, 2012. He was the owner of Kitchens By Jim Thompson. He was born July 17, 1933, in Prague, OK, a son of Alex Monroe and Willie Ona Thompson. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Lloydell Ryle and Margaret King, and his brother, Don C. Thompson. He married Gretta Millsap on June 22, 1997 in Tulsa. In addition to his wife, Mr. Thompson is survived by 2 daughters, Sherry and David Johnson, and Shelly and Paul Henning; including 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by 4 step-children, Chrissy and Steve Streeter, Carri and John Bearg, Casey Callery and Craig and Louisa Carnagey; including 9 step-grandchildren. Jim is also survived by his brother, George A. Thompson and wife, Sybil. Jim was a graduate of Oklahoma State University in 1955. Upon graduation he moved to Tulsa and became involved with Kitchen Korner, later forming his own business known as Kitchens by Jim Thompson for 50+ years. Jim enjoyed boating, fishing, traveling, supporting the OSU Cowboys and most of all spending time with family and friends. He attended First Baptist Church in Tulsa where he served on the Benevolence Committee. He also volunteered for the Tulsa area Meals on Wheels. Jim had a servants heart following the Lords lead, as well as a great sense of humor. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 4, 2013, 10:00 AM, at the First Baptist Church of Tulsa. Interment will be in the Prague Cemetery. Visitation Thursday 6-8 PM at Moore’s Southlawn Chapel.
