The current electronic situation is not only about mindless Twittering, trending with the Kardashians, playing games or looking at naked people.

Your computer's history is as easy for an electronic ace to read as this morning's newspaper. It's why people don't enjoy dropping off electronic devices for service. Imagine the computer workers gathering around your device after you've left.

The Internet in the wrong hands and minds can be a dangerous place.

It has made a mockery of the imagination. What's left to imagine? It's all on some shady site in living color.

Electronics make for good sitters for the children and lousy playmates.

Electronics and the Internet still have many great uses.

Here are some of them.

Auto-correct: News is there, usually in brief; gossip rules the day.

It's easy to shop.

Every local enterprise should spend more time developing its website than it does on television advertisements, as websites are the real showrooms and sales pitches.

You can look up stuff such as medical and mechanical questions quickly on the Internet. Get the first couple of letters of your search in the right order, and Google will spell it out for you.

Time was, people looked things up in a publication called a dictionary. There's one now, over in the corner of the office, its pages yellowing, serving as a plant stand.

What's not to like about anything that wipes from the map the need to spell tough words?

Seeing misspellings corrected by the computer time after time, it could sink in, a person could learn accidentally.

Who knows about the reviews from so-called customers? They could be staged.

Dim lighting: The Internet has pretty much put the Postal Service out of business.

What's not to like about free letters delivered at the speed of thought?

Lessons about the human condition can be found throughout the electronic system, the way people see themselves, for example, on dating venues: People actually see themselves in the best possible light.

Some who could stand to mix in a salad and another lap around the track or pool see themselves as being almost rail thin and perfect enough.

Another great place to hang out on the Internet is at a radar weather site and see how simple predicting something approaching from the west can be.

Of equal importance to what you can get from the Internet is what you do with all the time saved.
