Kansas State outlasts Cowboys, 73-67

MANHATTAN, Kan. -- Rodney McGruder scored 26 of his 28 points after halftime as No. 25 Kansas State knocked off 22nd-ranked Oklahoma State 73-67 on Saturday in the Big 12 opener for both teams.

After the Cowboys led 32-30 at halftime, the Wildcats twice opened up a six-point advantage. Each time, OSU clawed back.

Phil Forte tied the game at 64 with 2:45 left, but McGruder hit back-to-back 3-pointers to deliver the victory.

Marcus Smart scored a career-high 25 points for the Cowboys, who fell to 10-3. Markel Brown finished with 19 points.
