Tulsa Community College will offer a Bass Techniques course as a part of its continuing education schedule this year. The course is four classes, held Feb. 13, 20, 26 and March 4, 7:30-9:30 p.m.

Instructors include two former Bassmaster Classic champions, Ken Cook and Paul Elias. Also instructing are Bassmaster Elite Pro Tommy Biffle of Wagoner, Grand Lake guide Ivan Martin and former pro angler Jim Morton. Founder Gary White’s bass techniques course has been offered through 137 colleges and universities in the US and Canada. In 1994, Bass Techniques was inducted into the National Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame for contributions to education and conservation. The event became a part of the Bass Anglers Sportsman Society in 1995, where it continued as Bassmaster University through 2006. White is bringing it back to its college roots.
