The Oklahoma House of Representatives
will convene Tuesday for
its annual organizational day.
The membership of the House
for the coming session will be
certified and a speaker — expected
to be Rep. T.W. Shannon,
R-Lawton — and a speaker pro
tem will be elected. Rep. Mike
Jackson, R-Enid, is expected to
become speaker pro tem.
Democratic meetings: Heart of
the Party, a chapter of the Oklahoma
Federation of Democratic
Women, will meet at 6:30 p.m.
Monday at Tally’s Cafe, 1102 S.
Yale Ave.
The Tulsa County Democratic
Party luncheon will be at 11:30
a.m. on Friday at Baxter’s Interurban,
717 S. Houston Ave.
Republican meetings: Tulsa
City Councilors Karen Gilbert
and G.T. Bynum will be featured
at the Republican Assembly
meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the
LaFortune Park Clubhouse, 5501
S. Yale Ave.
The Tulsa County Republican
Men’s Club will install its 2013
officers at its monthly meeting,
noon Wednesday at the Hibachi
Grill, 8110 E. 74th Place.
