Oklahoma State assistant takes job at Houston

Oklahoma State University inside receivers coach Doug Meacham will be named offensive coordinator at Houston, a source close to the football program confirmed Saturday.
Meacham, a former OSU offensive lineman, has been on Mike Gundy's staff during all of the head coach's eight seasons at the helm. He and Gundy are former Cowboy teammates.
Houston has been in search of an offensive coordinator since Mike Nesbitt, who began last season with that title, resigned following a 30-13 loss to Texas State in a season opener. Assistant coach Travis Bush assumed playcalling duties after Nesbitt's departure.
Meacham was part of an offensive staff that helped OSU set new school records for total offense each of the last two seasons. The Cowboys broke the record this season despite the loss of two first-round NFL draft picks and despite the fact that injuries forced the team to use three starting quarterbacks.
A source also indicated that Meacham had interviewed for a job at Kentucky. With his departure, offensive line coach Joe Wickline becomes the only remaining member of Gundy's original staff of assistant coaches.
Gundy now is in the market for two new assistants. Offensive coordinator Todd Monken left to become head coach at Southern Mississippi.
Before coming to OSU, Meacham was an offensive coordinator at Samford, Henderson State, Jacksonville State and Georgia Military Academy.
