Nicholls State edges past ORU women

Nicholls State scored four points in the final nine seconds to slip past Oral Roberts 69-66 in women's college basketball Saturday in Thibodaux, La.
Sarah Shelton scored a career-best 21 points for the Golden Eagles (4-8, 1-1 Southland Conference). Taylor Cooper added 16 points for ORU, while Kevi Luper scored 12 and Jaci Bigham finished with nine points and added 10 assists.
Nicholls State (9-4, 1-1) was led by Alisha Allen's 18 points.
ORU took its final lead at the 1:11 mark, when Shelton scored on a putback to give the Golden Eagles a 66-65 advantage.
ORU got the ball back with 25 seconds left, but the Golden Eagles turned the ball over twice and the Colonels sealed the win.
