A man was fatally shot outside a Tulsa apartment complex Monday night.
His death was the fifth homicide of the day and the seventh of the year.
The man, whose name was not released but who police said was 50 years old, was at the Garden Courtyard apartment complex in the 4300 block of South Garnett Road to visit his sister when he was acosted by someone about 9:30 p.m., Sgt. Mark Watson said.
Then, as he tried to run away, he was shot twice in the back and once in leg. He was able to make it to his sister's apartment, where he collapsed, Watson said.
The man was taken to St. Francis Hospital, where he later died.
No motive was known, and no description of the shooter was available Monday night.
Police talked to some residents who said they didn't see anything but heard three to five gun shots, Watson said.
