Oklahoma State football coach Mike Gundy announced Monday that Naim Mustafaa, a defensive end from Alpharetta, Ga., has enrolled at OSU and will participate in spring drills.

Mustafaa committed to Georgia in June, but news trickled out over the weekend that he had changed his mind and traveled to Stillwater with the intent of enrolling for spring semester at OSU. His father, former NFL defensive back Najee Mustafaa, once was a teammate of Cowboy co-defensive coordinator Glenn Spencer at Georgia Tech.

“Naim is a big-time defensive end who can rush the passer and is very athletic,” Spencer said in a press release issued by OSU’s sports information department. “He has a very high motor and is a competitor. He uses his hands very well. He is a quiet person by nature, but he turns it up when he’s on the field.”

In interviews after switching his commitment, Mustafaa (6-foot-4, 235 pounds) cited a desire to play defensive end at OSU rather than be an outside linebacker at Georgia. He is ranked 20th nationally among prospects at his position by Scout.com and 26th by Rivals.com.
